Strengthening of Government - (SoG)

Based on previous experiences of having interaction with government ministries and departments at various levels, WPF has initiated a programme for Strengthening of Government with an aim to create an enabling environment in Pakistan for SRHR of youth and women by increasing awareness and building the capacity of government departments on issues of SRHR. With this initiative WPF plans to build on its past associations and initiatives with the ministries and local government departments to have a strong and long term impact on the youth.

Goal
Strengthen the capacity of different level of Government to reinforce more appropriate and supportive social attitudes towards sexual and reproductive health and rights of young people and women leading to improvement into quality of life.

Specific Objectives
The specific objectives of the initiative are to

• Provide technical trainings and opportunities to concerned partners on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights through capacity building initiatives.
• Provide learning forums to share the experiences and learning within different ministries and departments concerned with issues of population, young people, social welfare and strategizing joint ventures through advocacy initiatives.
• Generate a policy dialogue involving other stake holders from civil society as well as donor community to bring about positive changes in related policies and systems of partner ministries and department.

Sharing of learning and lessons learned with civil society organizations and governments for building public private partnership for SRHR.
