PARWAN (meaning: to grow) is a youth leadership development program initiated by World Population Foundation (WPF) – Pakistan, for the Life Skills Based Eduscation (LSBE) program alumni. In Pakistan about 35 % of its total population is youth (age 15-29), nothing could be as important as a broadly acceptable vision for youth and an effective mechanism for harnessing the potential of youth.
PARWAN aims to develop adolescents by enhancing their leadership skills and will focus on the alumni of Life Skill Based Education (LSBE) Programme of WPF. The programme will develop young leaders to contribute towards improving the quality of life of all young people in Pakistan.

PARWAN – A School Based Programme
All students completing LSBE curriculum will be registered as PARWAN members and will be allotted an identification number. Registered LSBE alumni will choose a ‘LSBE School Leader’ (LSL) and will work under the guidance of School administration, School administration will support and organize team building, personality development, leadership, peer education and capacity building activities with in their own schools in collaboration with local implementing NGO and WPF.
Schools adopting PARWAN will be acknowledged as ‘Adolescents Leadership Centers’. Performance of the school will improve as besides LSBE Alumni’s, other students, and teachers can also be involved in PARWAN activities. The programme will facilitate an enabling environment in school, home and community by engaging teachers and parents.
PARWAN will also nominate LSBE alumni in capacity building and leadership skills trainings organized by WPF or local implementing NGO’s within their city as per the nomination of School head.
PARWAN will also provide opportunity for schools to utilize skills of LSBE alumni for further expansion and scaling up of LSBE in their own schools. LSBE alumni can be utilized as peer – educators to support and impart LSBE to their school fellows.
