About us: WPF-Pakistan
World Population Foundation (WPF), Pakistan (an international organization) has been working to improve the quality of life of young people and women in Pakistan since 1997 to promote:
- Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)
- awareness of the importance of SRHR for sustainable human development
- Understanding of the central role of reproductive health in population issues
During the last eleven years of its existence WPF-Pakistan has significantly contributed in youth development and adolescents’ health. Pakistan currently boasts a huge demographic dividend and untapped human resource; it has the largest group of youth (ages 15 – 25) with nearly 54.2 million individuals. Young people of Pakistan are the most vulnerable group to face social, economic and even political issues. Therefore, WPF-Pakistan strives to address young people’s needs through a rights-based, gender-responsive and empowering approach.
PROPOSED QUOTES:
"Young people should be at the forefront of global change and innovation. Empowered, they can be key agents for development and peace. If, however, they are left on society's margins, all of us will be impoverished. Let us ensure that all young people have every opportunity to participate fully in the lives of their societies." -- Kofi Annan -- |
