National Adolescent Development Policy Framework (NADPF)

WPF and Plan have initiated the process for the formulation of “National Adolescent Development Policy Framework 2009-2013”. This framework will ensure that adolescents are well prepared, informed and sensitized, by the time they reach 19, enhancing their involvement in the social development process of the country.

The basic ideology behind National Adolescents’ Development Policy Framework is to set up first milestone towards an integrated and holistic approach to formulate and draft Pakistan’s first Policy Framework for Adolescents to ensure adolescents’ development for the advantage of young people of Pakistan.

WPF and Plan have decided to form a “working group” to guide the process for the development of this Framework. The objective of this working group is to document the sexual and reproductive health knowledge and behavior of adolescent boys & girls in Pakistan.

First meeting of the Working Group was held at WPF, Islamabad office on 4th March 2009 in collaboration of Plan-Pakistan for the formulation of ‘National Adolescent Development Policy Framework 2009-2013’ Participants were briefed about the initiative and the process of NADPF. The working group dynamically participated in the discussion for the development of an adolescent policy framework. Coming from diversified backgrounds, their input is highly valued.
